A Quiet Day

General informationCome no closer! Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground. You shall be like a watered garden. I am the Vine and you are the branches. Come for a day of quiet and prayer, with likeminded people, opening to God's voice, and what the earth reveals about the nature of God, in this time before Winter. Jesus used images from the earth, metaphors of seed and harvest to deliver his message, especially in parables. He used images of soil and seed, of sheep, of field and treasure, of pearl and trees, often to describe the kingdom of heaven. Jesus is telling us that this kingdom is not some far off unreachable place, but here to be discovered in the midst of everyday life. We open with a cuppa at 9:00am, then a reflection at 9:30am, and gather at various times for reflection and meditation, and a closing prayer at 3:00pm. Bring your own lunch, journal, hat, and art materials if you'd like. Morning and afternoon tea provided. |

Susanna Pain | Philosophy
My aim is to enable the transformation of individuals and communities in good times and in bad, through change and transition; to create space where people can rest and feel safe with challenges and successes. I invite inclusiveness, grace, beauty and fun, as well as silence. I shape ritual and space that speaks to hearts and minds. All my midwifery is undergirded by prayer. |
