General informationThe seed is in the ground. Now may we rest in hope while darkness does its work. —Wendell Berry To know the dark is the theme for Benedictus’ 2026 retreat in daily life. In the weeks when the darkness of winter descends, you are invited to pause, rest, notice, attend and give thanks for the work of love happening in and for you.
Spiritual Direction is an ancient ministry of deep listening. Companions hold welcoming space for you to share what you wish of your experience. Through open-ended questions and creative expression, they help you explore where the Spirit is moving in your life and how you might like to respond. |

Susanna Pain | Philosophy
My aim is to enable the transformation of individuals and communities in good times and in bad, through change and transition; to create space where people can rest and feel safe with challenges and successes. I invite inclusiveness, grace, beauty and fun, as well as silence. I shape ritual and space that speaks to hearts and minds. All my midwifery is undergirded by prayer. |
